About (Meaning of Loving Plague)
Loving plague is two words that mean quite the opposite. They both come together to create an oxymoron that represents the world and the internal and external battles that we as humans face. This brand was born from the realization that the trials and suffering that revolve around our lives, seem to never leave us alone no matter how much we try to get rid of them. They stick to us with a love so strong that they begin to plague us, never allowing us to be free of them. The brand will also explore different topics that revolve around the theme of the word "plague" along with other inspirations that have taken place following up to creating the brand.
Meaning of the Lisieux Tee and Nine Days Before Hoodie
St. Therese of Lisieux was a saint who suffered from scrupulosity. For those who do not know, scrupulosity is a form of OCD in religion that means one is constantly stressing or worrying that they have committed a sin in certain things they do. St. Therese was very devoted in prayer to finally end her suffering and her miracle was granted on Christmas day in 1886. The reason for the name of "Nine Days Before" is because the miracle given from God was nine days before her birthday. The image on the back of the hoodie is inspired by her in the suffering stage leading up to her gift. The "Lisieux" tee is also inspired by the stage at which she is finally at ease looking up to God, with the image of a woman looking up towards Heaven.
Meaning of St. Aloysius Gonzaga Hoodie
St. Aloysius Gonzaga was a saint who aided and tended to victims of the plague that occurred in Rome during the year of 1591. While helping those in need, he caught the plague himself and passed away the same year. He had started his religious journey with Catholicism at the age of 7 and continued on throughout his life. Inspired by art that is seen in churches, it was only right to use a saint for this hoodie who related to events of a plague which also relates to the brand.
